Educational Resources
Scientific research into the causes of disease has led to improved knowledge about how to prevent the spread of many diseases. In countries where people are well educated, such diseases are less prevalent. Effective medical treatment is usually available and affordable.
In poor communities, where education levels are very low, many diseases spread because of a lack of knowledge and effective treatments are unaffordable. One of the key strategies used in developing such communities is to educate people about how to prevent disease. Unfortunately, this is often difficult due to low levels of basic literacy.

Most of the resources are highly visual and have few written instructions so that they are suitable for use with illiterate people. Fact sheets are included to provide further information for people who can read English.
Most of the resources have been developed by Year 10 students at Covenant Christian School.
Covenant Christian School is located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney assisting parents in the nurture of their children, providing a Christ-centred, biblically grounded, culturally engaging and academically rigorous education which equips children to live for God’s glory. We want our students to use what they are learning in class to serve others. Jesus said "Freely you have received; freely give." (Matthew 10:8) The resources were produced as part of a unit on disease.
